I left the panorama community today because of the spam... sure there are  good folks there but I'm not into spam posts. I may check back later and see if things improve.
The day is ending. The Governator is playing politics. The state is in crisis. Just think, the Governator has got the best prisons, and the worst schools. We have the state where the infrastructure is falling apart, but we have low property taxes (for those who have held their homes since 1968, everyone else is paying 2% of the selling price) and now a lot of people are asking for reassessments to get their taxes lowered because of falling real estate values.

The State of California has been in crisis for a while. The Governator got to office criticizing Governor Davis for doing the same things he is doing. Now e are facing the same crisis, but with a Republican't who won't face the fact that revenues must match obligations. I guess this state is doomed to become a model third world country. I wonder if Mexico wants it back?
I got my absentee ballot today and just a few minutes ago I concluded voting. For [livejournal.com profile] serendipity and the country I voted Obama. I also went NO ON all the tribal propositions, 94, 95, 96, and 97.. I've seen locally how the rich tribes use their new found wealth, power corrupts, and it is growing within the tribes. Greed has taken over and the Governator bought into it. I think we can do better, a lot better. The problem is the average voter will buy the bullshit being handed out by the advertising.
It seems to avoid answering questions about his affair with a Telemundo reporter, the Mayor's goon squad pushed a female reporter into a shipping container in order to allow his 'escape' from scrutiny. Now they have cleared the officer. Hey, another politician and his goons.
Is this Dubya's vision? He clearly says the war will outlast his presidency, so we have a choice. We can vote for someone who supports this war or make a change. It's up to you and what you do in the voting booth.
Are we in hard times, yes.... I know of too many people who are just on the edge of going under. That is not good. I guess I'm the fortunate one, I have a job with a huge amount of funds to drive my projects for the foreseeable future. Even that does not assure survival. We are seeing the breakdown of this 'free market' economy, as greed has defeated good sense. The consumer culture has started butting heads with the economics of the global economy.

I just purchased the book 'Collapse', a book that looks at what and how a civilization dies. I don't think we as a society are there yet but some in power that are trying like hell to reach the Apocalypse, but knowledge may make you a survivor.
