This past weekend, the same old bullshit, the same old routines. Saw some snow yesterday, they say the snow level should drop to 3500 feet, so I may have a snowy commute home (I live at 4200 feet). It's been cold, the wood fire has been burning, but even that sometimes doesn't heat the cracker-box I'm living in.

I'll take a long way home tonight. I'll cross over a 4900 foot pass,  I'll even enter a no cell zone, an area where there is no cellular reception. I'll have to keep the chains handy, the speed down, and a watchful eye for deer. I saw a few this weekend, out munching on the new growth, adding a bit of green to their diet.

Got to buy some more wood this Saturday, I'll get some good hardwood, for a nice roaring fire. My stove says to be careful and cut the fire back using the damper when the chimney starts glowing. I've never even got close to that, and a triple wall stainless steel lined chimney helps.

back to the task at hand...
