this week..

It started out alright, but went into the crapper after that. First, my cooling system warning light came on to tell me that my water pump had died. So, while at the dealer I had that repaired, did the brakes (all four wheels) and checked the car over. I left the car and took a rental for the day (dealer paid for the rental).  So far so good. I went back to the dealer, paid the bill (over $1000) and drove home. The next day I drove to work, and when returning that evening, the alternator died, and left me stranded in the middle of nowhere. Then I called the Auto Club, got a tow,  and got delivered to my house. This morning I hoofed it for about two miles (hitchhiking) and caught a ride to the garage where my car was. I then rode the wrecker to the dealer, dropped my car off, told them I'd pick it up on Saturday, and rented another car for a few days to finish out the work week. I don't know how much this latest episode will cost, but I'm feeling a bit poorer right now. Saturday morning I'll go car shopping and see what I can find at a reasonable price. I'll add that car to my household, and then I'll have something else to drive off and on.... we'll see where this goes next.
