Depression???
Feb. 24th, 2009 12:33 pmIt seems we are not in a recession as much as we are facing a depression, and there are a few more years of suffering ahead of us. I'm working on getting a few medical problems out of the way before I find myself without health insurance (yes, I can continue if I want to pay dearly).
Our system of finance is failing badly, with most banks headed for failure. I'm transitioning to a cash only existence. In some respects, retirement will give me more options rather than being subject to the whims of management that doesn't have a clue of how they will extricate themselves from the deep hole they have dug. I'll be poor, but with options.
The numbers of homeless in Civic Center seems to grow daily, I see more new faces as I walk to work. I know if I'm in need of a meal, they serve food three times a day here. I have a bunch of stuff I'll bring down here soon, clothes and sleeping bags, two items these people need. I might have to find some cheap tarps at Harbor Friehgt to pass on too.
I may have to ride out the depression in Anza, and I don't think recovery will be before 2010.
