The sun is shing, the sky is clear. Another day of sunshine, and a day of rest., except I plan on taking some time to ride, a bike ride. I'll take my small camera along to share the ride. More later.
Thanks to local citizens who call themselves 'conservatives' have brought the city to its knees.

The local voters seem to want to see all city services cut and city employees paid very low wages. I'd like to see the city declare bankruptcy and throw the burden of police and fire back on the citizens. When the city government ceases to function and cannot provide basic services the citizens should be ashamed.
The America's Cup will return to San Francisco..... thanks to the billions of Larry Ellison.
We have something to learn from the conservative/fundamentlist side of society. We need to take more control locally, be it school boards, water boards, library boards, and city councils. This tactic is discussed here...

We need to take back control in these bodies, and not let a bunch of 'wingnuts' ruin our cities and educational system.
While listening to R.E.M. on my laptop, the song 'Ignoreland' hit home. I think maybe it needs an update, but there are parralels to today..

There is a bill in the Senate (S510) that is designed to help the FDA improve food safety, but it has a problem...please read this article and act... call your Senator and make sure they make the changes to save the small farmer, the organic farmer, the people who come to your famer's market. Food safety is important, but most problems come from corporate agriculture, not the small farmer, so let's protect the small farmer and not let regulation give agri-business an advantage.
