Yes, it was this crowded... but it was sure fun. Just think of a bike party 10 miles long with over 100,000 people attending.

It has already started. People are being convicted as terrorists because the government says they must be imprisoned because they may commit  a crime. Here is an interesting article to read. Yes, the United States government is a little behind schedule for implementing 1984. They are working on it. Right now they are putting Muslims behind bars, next will be whistleblowers, and then members of the Occupy movement. Dissent is now considered a terrorist act.  Posted on Dreamwidth
True community radio is coming. The FCC has started the process where low power FM radio licenses will be offered to non-profit groups to operate radio stations. Start up costs are about $10,000 and monthly costs after that may run $1000.  If this works for you, get working on it, as I figure the airwaves will be crowded with religious stations if other groups don't step up. Look to the Prometheus Radio Project for guidance.. they can help. We need community radio, not the corporate drivel we get now. Posted on Dreamwidth
I saw this food distribution going on at MacArthur Park during CicLAvia. The people were preparing wonderful boxes of fresh produce and fruit for people in the neighborhood, including the homeless. No one was charged, it was free.

There were a lot of bikes out there. Estimates say it was close to 100,000 riders.
