week one of 'homelessness'
Jun. 24th, 2013 04:18 amEscrow closed and my adventure began. THe last few days before closing were marked by chaos. I went through many tanks of gas as I shuttled my 'stuff' to storage. It was very overwhelming to say the least. Now I'm in the process of taking care of things, sorting through the stuff I just threw in boxes, getting my humble temporary abode livable. paying some bills, and shopping for the necessities of long term travel.
Now I have a few more weeks to get my act together, and today starts that journey. I have to call my doctor to make an appointment, take a trp to the desert (hot) for some business, put together my camping gear for a dry run and some refinement,
One thing about having no physical home, you experience a new life, The luxury of having a bathroom when you want it, a warm shower, a real bed. I'm getting food at finding free wifi, and spend a lot less time online. Laundry becomes a problem, so a laundry bag lives in the back of the car and every time it gets to one load size it gets done. I keep a small cooler in the car, and another cooler at my shack. I have a few months but by winter I will have a small travel trailer to spend time with other snowbirds in the desert.
Nothing exciting yet, but soon.
