The weekend that was..

curmugeonStarted Friday night at our annual employee recognition banquet, not bad this year, food was good, deserving people got the awards.
Saturday dawned early, a long drive to my Mom's, took care of some family business, planned to take care of some more next week. Got the chain saw going and went to a friends house to take care of some trees he had taken down. Did some limbing, and cut the trunks into movable sized chunks to transport back to the rancho. Still got a few more truck loads to go, then the real fun starts, sawing and splitting the wood to fireplace/wood stove sized chunks.
Sunday, slept in. Finished the afternoon with a bike ride along the coast to the downtown marina district, past the beautiful (and some not so beautiful) bodies on the sand, watching the boats sail across the harbor and over to a spot opposite the Queen Mary, sitting at anchor in Long Beach Harbor. Could not ask for better weather.
Now to settle in, read the Sunday paper, get some minor housework done, and prepare mentally for the next work day.
I need to wash my car more, we need more rain.
