curmugeonNo, I'll outline the scenario. Bush will not attack Iran. Israel will be his proxy attack dog, with support from the U.S. Navy. The only real way he can get to Iran is by facilitating the attack by Israel by providing refueling support and giving an aircraft carrier to land on in case the mission taxes their aircraft. He will have some measure of tenability, he can deny our involvement, unless we get drawn in to support our ally ( oh, I mean mercenaries) in 'their' fight.
Much like he supported the Israeli attack on Lebanon, he'll place 140,000 U.S. troops in Iraq in jeopardy all to satisfy his insane vision as imperial ruler of the world.
So watch out. The madman is desperate and will do anything to keep in power. He has this idea he is a 'wartime' president, so he'll create a war just to insure his place in history (which he will later rewrite) even though he may find himself compared to Hitler.
No, I don't foresee free and unbiased elections in 2006 or 2008. I see the power stolen from the people by a despot, who will not walk out of the Whitehouse, but will need to be removed in a straight jacket.
