It was an interesting day at work. First, handle all the citizen concerns about my current project, that took from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.. Then a field meeting with another concerned citizen who thought he was a better engineer than I. Back to the office and surprise, someone with political pull had shut down my project as he did not want disruptions of contractors working in the area when he was having visitors. The project is now scheduled to resume on January 6th. There is only one problem with this, the contractor has people counting on work and now they are out of work. I figure this is going to cost us, a lot of dollars. We'll see on January 6th when we have to pay the contractor to re-mobilize.

We had our departmental open house this afternoon, more food than ever before and a good time was had by all. Next week is our staff meeting, and the interns are hosting. This is something they wanted to do, as this is our little holiday part and gift exchange. I'll look forward to work next week.

Now to get some rest, and prepare for the coming rain.

You experienced a terrible Friday the 13th!

(Customers regularly think they're better librarians than I am.)

It wasn't so bad...

As this was a political move, the consequences don't bother me. Someone will have to explain to the City Council why they will need additional funds to complete the project.

No rain yet.
