curmugeonIt seems that when the government wants to get you, they will find ways to get you, no matter if the Constitution gets in the way.
First, they hold you for years in solitary confinement without charge by calling you an 'enemy combatant'. When that argument fails to hold up under the scrutiny of the courts, they find another charge to place against you and put you on trial as a 'terrorist'. Then you get convicted on hearsay evidence, and redacted documents, and tried by a jury of your peers (in this case a jury whose names are secret and are never to be known), and sentenced by a judge who basically keeps your defense from doing a proper job.
And they say we live in a free country... who are they trying to kid...
