curmugeon It seems that in a effort to keep LJ from being sued, they have added a new category to the journal settings page...see example here While my screen capture isn't the best, you'll note the adult content category. They give you three choices, No Adult Content, Adult Concepts, or Explicit Adult Content..
I'm going to set my journal to Adult Concepts, restricting it to those over 14 years of age. That will filter out the kids yet allow those intelligent enough to read to read my rants. If you see a message warning you about what I may post, be forewarned, LJ thinks you need to be protected from curmudgeons like me.
