The President creates a crisis in the Mideast, the media plays on the crisis, and current reports attribute 25 cents of that price to public panic. Of course the oil industry, which he was an active player, along with Dick Cheney and others of his cabinet have done nothing but spout more war rhetoric, ignoring facts and failing to convince the world that there is a problem. But, alas, there are too any people who don't realize that there are definite links to what Washington does and how markets react. Take a look at Wall Street the morning after every speech by the President.
