curmugeonTook yesterday off work to take my mom for a second opinion. A long day of driving and listening and talking. Her last visit to the first opthalmologic was not good, as he took a brief look, sentenced her to be blind in six months, and told her to go home and live with it. This trip to a clinic I was familiar with, she got a through exam, some hope she could lead a normal life, some doubt from the new doctor of the initial diagnosis, and a sense of caring, absent in her first doctor. Her mood has changed, she has hope, she has her independance, She is happy, I am much happier. I'm happy to go to work this morning, but still tired from all the driving I did in the last 24 hours.
