to the future...

Seems the mental illness that infects Washington has spread to Canada, where the Conservatives (Republican clones) have gained a majority and will do their best attempt to destroy that country too. I'm wondering if the electorate is so dumb they will vote for anything that these fools put forth in the name of cutting taxes? Don't people realize that these corporatists are basically working to enslave the average worker and leave him such a state he will 'work for food'.  They don't give a damn about him being educated, they don't want him to be smart enough to ask an intelligent question or question authority. If he get sick and dies, they don't care. The country needs to be required to read Orwell's 1984... maybe that is asking too much, but they should be required to watch the movie, that might work, as they can work a remote control and asking them to think is giving them credit for having the ability to reason, something they have failed to demonstrate since 1980, when they elected a B-movie actor to lead them.

I just finished using Medicare to care for my Mom in her final days, and it works. No, it requires you to do your part, as a caregiver that is a hard job. To think the next generation and some of my friends will not have this to save them is unthinkable. And to think that some of these same people call themselves Christian and Republican only further confirms what Marx had to say, religion is the opiate of the masses. They must be on drugs to call themselves Christian. But I must be reminded, they do their Bible study, directed by their flavor of religion, totally ignoring the lessons of the old testament. They dwell too much on Revelations and by their other God(ess) Ayn Rand. I can't wait for judgement day and see then and their weak excuses, begging to be let into Heaven. 

We are being lead down a road to slavery and toil by a bunch of Fascists. They would make Mussolini proud. They want to steal all those FICA taxes and Medicare generations have paid and give you nothing but pain and suffering in return. People need to be reminded that retirees, public employees, teachers, firemen, and law enforcement didn't cause the current crisis. It was short sighted politicians, it was a series of wars for oil that failed miserably, it is a 'war on terror' that is just an excuse to destroy the freedoms we hold dear. 

No, if you can read this thank a teacher, and remember that we brought this on ourselves by not being active citizens, being too lazy to take the time to study the issues and voted. I just removed my satellite service, no TV, it is too much of wasteland to pay for it. I have a treasure trove of books to read... everything from Silent Spring to The People's Pharmacy.  I plan on more reading, more going outside, maybe looking at the stars, more bicycle, less car, and more activity in the political arena.  Just before y mother passed I demonstarted in Palm Desert in support of the workers in Wisconsin. I'll be doing more, much more.

So people, what does your future look like? Are you angry enough to get active? Are you wondering what your kid's life will be like? Get off the couch, get out of that chair, and start getting active. 2012 is just around the corner and the battle for democracy is on. Either you get active or become a slave, simple as that.
