nowadays, watch yourself around police...
Oct. 23rd, 2011 07:12 pmIt seems the police are scared, and poorly trained. After watching this video and listening to the explanation from the detective, it sounds like Downey California Police are not well trained, and a bit trigger happy. The victim did act in a suspicious manner, but police need to use less lethal means, these means do exist. Also, if he had been detained twice, why was he not patted down? Why was he able to escape custody twice? It seems that poor training and poor police procedure resulted in his death. The same goes for the Fullerton police after they beat a homeless man to death. Why do the police have to use excessive force to subdue a suspect? It appears that a lot of cops have not been trained at controlling their rage when the adrenaline starts pumping. Changes are needed.
Your local cops are not the smartest individuals, they aren't of the highest moral character. My experience is once they get a badge, they change, from a person who may have been reasonable to a person who starts seeing everyone else as the 'enemy'. I have a brother in law who served years as a cop. I used to hear his racist rants, his crude attempt at humor, and his stories. He never left a favorable impression with me. I've also heard him say that some of the cops he has met would not have been hired in the years he served. He said many he'd met were not qualified mentally for the job.
Then you see the police cracking down on those people that are part of the occupy movement, and the brutality I have witnessed by way of video is appalling. This is the future people, We live in a police state, and the police state will be evil and the police will be used to abridge those rights we are guaranteed by the Bill of Rights.
There are honorable police officers, but they are much more that are not honorable. Just watch your step, don't give a cop an excuse to kill you.
