Nov. 20th, 2008 12:47 pmAt work there are rumors (more than likely true) that they want us to fore go all the rest of the raises that are scheduled in our current contract and they are not going to hire replacements for us who retire. Times will be tough in my city. There are poeple who will lose their jobs.
Hard times are here folks, cities are finding themselves with massive deficits. The state is wondering if they can get a bailout. This will be a deep recession, very deep. They don't want to use the word depression, but it will be close to that. Around here they think it may be 3-5 years to recover.
Transition... that is what is happening. Throw all concepts you have held dear out the door. There is a new paradigm now. You wanted change, you are going to see it. It may hurt, it is not going to be easy. Learn the new dance, learn the new song, learn to be self reliant.
