The Los Angeles Times did some real journalism and started looking at the real costs of healthcare. The looked at the cash price, the insurance price, and the averages as posted by the state insurance commissioner. This article will make you angry, very angry. I think because of this investigation I'm going to sick Darryl Issa on this (he took my last tip and ran with it, he's a publicity hound).

thinking..
Apr. 12th, 2012 12:29 pmWe have a problem in this country. It is called healthcare. I have served as a caregiver for more than a decade so I speak from experience. You don't need to worry about government death panels, you best worry about your choice of healthcare provider.. One thing I have to say is when you get to be past the age of 75 the actions by your medical provider change. I heard excuses why they would not do a procedure more often after that point. Most of the decisions were based on the bottom line, not on quality of life. I also have harsh words for some doctors who prey on the elderly, and do procedures just to pad the billing to Medicare. You don't have to worry about government 'death panels', your healthcare provider can do the job just as effectively for the profit motive.
