Took yesterday off work to take my mom for a second opinion. A long day of driving and listening and talking. Her last visit to the first opthalmologic was not good, as he took a brief look, sentenced her to be blind in six months, and told her to go home and live with it. This trip to a clinic I was familiar with, she got a through exam, some hope she could lead a normal life, some doubt from the new doctor of the initial diagnosis, and a sense of caring, absent in her first doctor. Her mood has changed, she has hope, she has her independance, She is happy, I am much happier. I'm happy to go to work this morning, but still tired from all the driving I did in the last 24 hours.

A SILVER Dragon Lies Beneath!

I took the Inner Dragon Online Quiz and found out I am a Silver Dragon on the inside. My Inner Dragon is to dragons what the Ranger is to humans. Like all metallic dragons, Silvers rigidly adhere to an internal code of conduct. Each Silver, however, must develop their code individually, a fact which explains their unique dispositions and actions. Silvers are often considered shadows dwelling on the periphery of dragon culture (much like human Rangers), but they can always be counted upon to speak the truth and help their allies. Because no one but a Silver knows what they'll do next, their alignment is "Chaotic Neutral."

Being a Silver isn't all shady head-games, though. I possess considerable intelligence and self-confidence (whether they manifest themselves or not :P ). Magic isn't really my bag, but I'm awfully good at slipping in and out undetected. Which, by the way, is probably due to my slightly-below-average size. My favorable attributes are dependability, durability, problem-solving, mist, and pewter. Like my human counterpart - the Ranger - I'm a superb weapons user and have an especially good command of my icy breath weapon. I know I might be tough to understand at times, but that's just my way.

Busy week, after a long weekend. Spent Monday at work, trying to get someone else's project ready to bid, but I'm not getting much help. Tuesday, more of the same, but cut out at 3 p.m. to drive down to 'el ranchito'. Got there just before dark, made my Mom happy that I was spending the night. Next day, get ready for a long drive to the doctor, to get a second opinion. I took and went outside the HMO system to get my second opinion so it meant a long drive to find someone I trusted. My Mom was apprehensive, but it was worth it, the diagnosis was much better and she felt much better. Drove back to Anza, and had to take a long detour as a semi tractor trailer combo had overturned on one freeway, blocking all lanes. The truck was filled with resin, sticky resin, thus closing all lanes. Finally got back to Anza, helped with some chores (always animals to feed), caught a short nap ( I was tired after driving 180 miles), then hit the road home, 120 miles later I made it to my studio apartment. Crashed, very tired.
