These days

These days I find life getting more complicated. As I age I find people I know suffering from lack of healthcare be it self imposed or the result of lack of availability. I'm working hard to get people to get health care because without it you are doomed to a life of pain and suffering. I'm surprised how many people have not gone and gotten health care because of lack of information, lack of initiative, or or just plain pride. Too many poor people don't want to admit that they are poor thus they won't take a public hand out even if it helps them. Suffering seems to be part of poverty in America. The problem is most people believe what they see on TV and do their best to live up to the opinions of the politicians that they're lazy and not deserving a helping hand. Unfortunately many see themselves as Republicans and vote accordingly much of the time against their own self-interests. Until such time these people can be educated and be able to see did they have been lied to things will not change. In this case we have poor people perpetuating poverty.

Food

Food in this valley I live in is in short supply because most of the available food is overpriced due to high shipping cost and retailers who charge too much. Too many people are standing in line for food handouts. Most food comes from these handouts is not a healthy diet. They get too much starches, too little protein, and generally what ever is in the box is old stock that has been sitting in a warehouse the years. Lucky for those down out we have more than one of those programs going here locally. This is life in rural America high unemployment, low income or no income, and having to make the decision to buy gas to get to work or food for the table. If you poor in America you are inevitably hungry and will be stuck eating this stuff. With all the wasted food in America it is a crime that people have to go hungry.
